Murray High Students Prepare For Graduation

About 400 Murray High School seniors are expected to graduate at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, at Salt Lake Community College’s Lifetime Activities Center. It’s located on the Redwood Campus, 4600 S. Redwood Road. Tickets are not required and there is parking and access for those with special needs.

Student speakers will include valedictorian Max Adams, who is the Sterling Scholar in business and is involved in the Academic Olympiad, National Honor Society, Interact Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Key Club, cross country team, and is active in the school’s music and theatre programs. Caitlin Coplan is the salutarian. She is the German Club vice president and is involved in National Honor Society, Interact Club and Academic Olympiad.

Joining the students on the podium will be Murray School District Superintendent Steve Hirase, Murray High Principal John Goldhardt and  the Murray Board of Education.

The ceremony will feature “Friends” by the school’s acappella choir, “Fanfare for a Celebration” by the concert band and a piece by the Madrigals that has yet to be announced.

The motto, “To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe,” is by novelist Anatole France.
