NeighborWorks Salt Lake Hosts Open House at Murray Office to Celebrate 10 Years

Introducing New Lending Products and Staff

MURRAY, UT – On February 20, 2019, NeighborWorks Salt Lake is inviting the public to drop into their Murray Office located at 4843 S Poplar Street and learn about the nonprofit community development organization’s impact and offerings. With low-interest and flexible home improvement loans and grants, down payment assistance forgivable loans, homebuyer education courses, and an annual Paint Your Heart Out event, there will be something of interest for all.

NeighborWorks Salt Lake, headquartered in the Fairpark neighborhood of Salt Lake City, was invited to expand into Murray City in 2009 to address the issue of debilitated residential properties and to preserve affordable housing. Ten years later, as the housing market has rebounded and boomed, NeighborWorks Salt Lake’s home improvement lending products are in renewed demand as homeowners find themselves locked into place by climbing interest rates.

As NeighborWorks Salt Lake’s Murray Office celebrates ten years, it does so with a new manager. Allison Trease joined the NeighborWorks Salt Lake staff in September, inheriting the duties of overseeing the Homeownership Promotion Services department and the Affordable Housing Mission Investment Fund. Prior to NeighborWorks Salt Lake, Allison worked for Ally Bank in the Commercial Loan Department and for Ford Motor Credit Company. A native of Taylorsville, Allison is passionate about helping individuals and families achieve homeownership.

At the Open House, all are encouraged to stop by and learn more about the impact NeighborWorks Salt Lake has made in Murray over the past decade. This includes the investment of $2.4 million into renovations and rehabilitations of homeownership units and nine homes painted by volunteers during Paint Your Heart Out, free of charge to the homeowner. The doors to the office will be open from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 4:30-6:30 PM, with free food, interactive games, and prizes. Don’t miss it!
