Busy young thespian takes her talents to stage
River Lundskog has found her niche in theatrical productions. At one point this spring, she was either performing or rehearsing for three different shows, simultaneously.
“I love performing,” she said. “I’ve been in ‘Race to the Moon’ with Utah Children’s Theater, ‘Robin Hood Jr.,’ with Valley Youth and ‘Music Man Jr.,’ at my school, Riverview Jr. High.”
Some previous performances have included “Little Mermaid Jr.” at Midvale, and “Pippi Longstockings,” and “Toyland,” both with Utah Children’s Theater, where schools take field trips to bring students to see the productions.
“I was one of three Riverview students chosen to participate in the recent Murray Storytelling Festival,” River said. She carries a 4.0 grade point average, and attends Riverview Jr. High, as well as being home-schooled. She takes singing lessons, swims, and has taken dance lessons in addition to belonging to an aerial arts group which works with hula hoops.
Love of theater keeps this 13-year-old 7th grader very busy.
“Acting is my soul, and it is what I am passionate about,” she said. “Actually, I love anything with uniqueness and imagination.”
