
Eagle Scouts
Andrew Price and Austin Simmons, members of Troop 685 in Murray, received their Eagle scout awards in a Court of Honor held on Dec. 13. Both boys are 13 years old and in the eighth grade at Bonneville Junior High School. They play on the Bonneville JHS basketball team and play competition basketball with the Pump 'N Run basketball team.
Andrew's Eagle project was the painting of a large map of the United States of America on the asphalt playground at Twin Peaks Elementary in Murray. Andrew has earned 20 merit badges. He is the son of David and Kristen Price of Murray.
Austin's Eagle project was the design and construction of custom shelving for the Special Education class at Twin Peaks Elementary to provide personal storage space for the special education students. Austin has earned 25 merit badges and will receive a Bronze Palm for his Eagle in the March 2010 Court of Honor. He is the son of Darl and Toni Simmons of Murray. Their scoutmaster is Neal Maxfield.
Both scouts have received Certificates of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Jim Matheson for earning their Eagle rank.
