Superintendent transition

During the transition this summer between Murray School District superintendents, former superintendent Richard R. Tranter said that he and Steve Hirase, current superintendent and former assistant superintendent, reviewed preparing for school board meetings, district financial issues and schools’ enrollment forecast. “Steve knows how the district works and has experience in curriculum changes,” Tranter said. Tranter, who is advising the district with the rebuilding of Hillcrest Junior High, said that the highlight of his educational career as a teacher, principal and working in the district office is “working with wonderful people and associating with great kids and parent volunteers.
