A LONDON SYMPHONY

The West Valley Symphony of Utah presents a concert featuring the “A London Symphony” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, under the direction of Music Director Donny Gilbert, Saturday, April 14nd at 7:30 p.m.

Jean Sibelius’ "Finlandia” leads off the program, followed by the Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 16, composed by Edvard Grieg in 1868. It was the only concerto Grieg completed and is one of his most popular works. You won’t want to miss piano soloist Krystal Cardon’s fiery and sensitive interpretation of the first movement.  Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite, Op. 46 is the incidental musical suite to Henrik Ibsen's 1867 play of the same name. Grieg extracted eight movements to make two four-movement suites.
